The unique design, reliability, ease-of-use and low maintenance combine to make the Gzelle Auto the perfect solution for transporting beds and patients in both public and private hospitals and healthcare facilities. With beds and patients constantly on the move between departments, services, Wards and operating theatres, the total distance covered can amount to many kilometres each day and the physical effort - and risk of injury to staff - involved in moving them is considerable, particularly when, as in many hospitals, ramps, gradients, narrow corridors and lifts have to be negotiated.
Operating the Gzelle Auto could not be easier! The Gzelle Auto drives easily under almost any hospital bed, and with the touch of a button, the hitch bar is raised until it automatically locates on the bed - and it's ready to drive off! No more awkward hitch straps or noisy ratchets, the Gzelle Auto is whisper-quiet, simple, and very easy to operate.
As it is a detachable unit, a single Gzelle Auto can serve a number of beds, making it a very cost-effective solution for patient transfer. The unique design of the Gzelle Auto allows the bed to be turned in it's own length with minimal effort, while the controls are simple and easy-to-use. The new, full-action twist-grip throttle is simple and intuitive while the automatic braking and light, handle bar steering, allow finger-tip control by even the slightest operator.
The design of the "Gzelle's" control column, console and automatic hitch mechanism means that as little as 150mm may be added to the length of a standard hospital bed. This allows the complete unit to fit into most hospital lifts without detaching, making transfer between floors simple, quick and easy.
Manoeuvering heavy hospital beds and patients can cause serious injury. The unique design of the new Gzelle Auto allows full manoeuverability in even the tightest areas with minimal physical effort by a single operator. Along narrow corridors, negotiating tight corners, through narrow doorways and into and out of lifts, up and down ramps, the Gzelle Auto makes patient transfer safe and efficient.
The standard "Gzelle" has a capacity of 350kg, sufficient for all standard hospital beds. The "Gzelle HD" (shown left transporting a Huntleigh bariatric bed at Auckland's Middlemore Hospital) has a capacity of 750kg and is specifically designed for moving bariatric beds and patients.
All Electrodrive products are totally emission-free and may be used in enclosed or confined areas with complete safety.
